DVD Lust
August 20, 2008

I'm not a big fan of sit-coms. The way that they continually put people in these uncomfortable situations doesn't make me laugh, it makes me feel sorry for the characters. I'll watch Yes, Dear, though the episodes are hit or miss to whether I like them, and I enjoyed the short-lived Boston Common, both featuring Anthony Clark. I enjoyed the Phoebe, Joey, and Chandler characters on Friends but watched it rarely, the rest of the show just wasn't worth it. I remember liking Who's the Boss and Family Ties as a kid, but I don't know that I'd like them now. I think my enjoyment mainly focused on crushes on the characters.

But the only sit-com I've ever truly loved is Mad About You, and it's probably up there with Six Feet Under and Firefly as one of my favorite shows ever.

I've avoided buying seasons 1 & 2, because, well, it's been 3.5 years since they released season 2, making it seem like they weren't going to release any more. But today when scanning my RSS feeds, I noticed a TVShowsOnDVD announcement for season 3! I was so shocked - and happy! Woot!

Now if we could just get a Birds of Prey set released, I'd be thrilled.
