I'm alive, if sick.
My computer cord finally bit it after giving me a bit of electroshock therapy and trying to set my clothes on fire. Probably because I'm such a fidgety person, I never sit in one spot for long while using it, switching sides of the couch, chairs, rooms, positions, etc.
New one should be here Wednesday Thursday Wednesday, according to FedEx.
There's been stuff to blog about, stuff I should've for local reference, but I'm in a quiet and anti-bloggy mood.
Request for a request.
These days I'm really into cotton. I love working with it, the way it feels, and how useful it is, especially when making kitchen and bath stuff. And now, Lion Brand has just come out with organic cotton. As excited as I am, yarn is one of the few things I want to go to the store to buy. I want to feel if it's going to hurt my hands to work with, or what the color actually is. I just want to interact with it before I buy it.
The problem is, Michaels and Jo-Ann don't carry it, and any knitting shop I've been in doesn't carry anything so lowly as Lion Brand. (They don't seem to carry Blue Sky, either, though, which also has an organic alternative.)
So, anyone interested and with time to spare, please shoot up a request for it to your favorite crafting chain. Both for access reasons, and to keep Lion Brand making it.
Either way, I'll probably cave and buy a skein online unless they start carrying it in the next couple months, lack of textile experience and $4.10 shipping cost or no.
I've emailed the Sunsets people about BeachFest before but with no response. This time one came through: "Beachfest will retune once Beachwalk is completed in about 2 years."
Wahoo!
